Johnnie Lee Pinkins was born on January 16, 1955, in Greenwood, Mississippi to Johnnie Lee Pinkins Sr. and Henrietta Pinkins. Johnnie was the second oldest child of 9 children. Johnnie was raised in El Centro, California. He attended their local schools and graduated High School. After graduating, Johnnie had 4 children and relocated to Bakersfield.
Over the years, Johnnie has worked as a cook for various companies such as Kern Medical Center and CA Forestry. Johnnie loved to cook and was known for his cooking. Johnnie also enjoyed taking trips to see nature and animals, listening to different genre of music, and watching sports especially the 49ers and Lakers. He was a die-hard fan of both teams. He was also a mentor for NA and AA groups.
Johnnie accepted the Lord at a young age and rededicated his life to Christ while incarcerated. After his release, Johnnie frequently participated in church. He attended St. Peter Church and Ambassadors for Christ Ministry. Johnnie continued to mentor others who struggle with drug and alcohol problems. He spent the remainder of his life trying to rebuild his relationships with his children and grandchildren. Johnnie was a very caring, patient, respectful, and friendly soul. He was a blessing too many and will truly be missed.
Johnnie is preceded in death by his father and mother, Johnnie Pinkins Sr and Henrietta Pinkins, son Anthony Pinkins, brothers Clarence Pinkins and George Bush, sisters Betty Morgan, Henrietta Pinkins, and Mary Alice Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memory his 3 children: Son, Johnnie Lee Pinkins III (Wife Shameka) of Bakersfield, Daughters, Natalie (husband Eric Chamblee) of Houston, and Shamya Pinkins of Las Vegas, Brothers, James Ray Moore (Wife Valerie), and Noble Bush Jr, Sister Noble Ann Bush, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, his Best friend known as Lucky, a special friend Carlene Logan, and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
