Jonnie Mae Stracner (Hallum) 11/22/1935 – 02/25/2024
Jonnie was born in Oklahoma to Minnie (Downum) and John Vernon Hallum. The family
relocated to Arvin CA, where she attended local schools. Upon high school graduation she
married the love here life Clark Stracner. His work took them to the Fremont, CA area where
they started their family and lived for many years. Clark was killed in a tragic auto accident
in 1980. Jonnie stayed in Fremont for many years, driving school bus, even winning awards
in the school bus rodeo. Eventually her family ties brought her back to Arvin/Bakersfield
where she continued to be a Mom raising several grandchildren and a few other kids that
needed a Mom.
Jonnie passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by
her beloved husband Clark, Son: Lee Clark Jr., Granddaughter: Elisha Anglin-Mayo, Son in
Law: Richard Hines. Parents: John Vernon & Minnie Hallum. Siblings: Carolyn (Hallum) Thome’,
Barry Hallum and Larry Hallum.
She is survived by her Daughter: Sherri Hines (who was her loving caregiver). Son: Larry
(Doobie) Stracner. Grandchildren: Jonnie Leeann Anglin, Easton Ellington, Brandileigha
Stracner, Troy Hines, Lacey Hines and Sherry Zook. Great Grandchildren: Ryan & Chase
Mayo, Joseph & Harmoni Lindner and Kaitlyn Fields. Great- Great Grandchildren: Kaiden &
Paxton Lindner, Layla, Remington & Hudson Watson, Ryder & Avery Mayo. Sister: Virginia
(Ginger) Scarbrough and her husband LP. Sister in Laws: Brenda Hallum and Betty Hallum
and Numerous Nieces and Nephews and their children who loved her dearly.
Funeral Services under the care of Basham Funeral Care, will be Friday, March 8th, at 11:00
a.m., at Hope Christian Center, 201 E. Brundage Lane, with a viewing March 7th, 5:00-8:00
p.m.. Burial will be Monday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m., at the Arvin Cemetery on Vineland
Road.
