Joseph Theodore Guzman

Joseph Guzman, 59, died Monday, October 3rd, 2022, inside his Bakersfield home.
Joseph was born June 24th, 1963, in Los Angeles, Ca to Teddy and Elodia Guzman. In 1989 Joseph moved to Bakersfield, Ca where he was a DJ and Bartender at La Movida. In 1991 he met Cynthia Sanchez. They married on January 4th, 2006 and spent the last 30 years together. They had two sons Robert and Anthony Guzman. Joseph later became an AC tech and provided that service for 17 years.
Joseph lived a very happy life with his family close by his side. He shared a very special bond with his children, grandchildren, and his dogs. He had many hobbies he included in his daily life. He loved shopping at Goodwill and finding “treasures” for his friends and family. Anything that was a “good deal” or “really cool” was never off limits. He enjoyed watching sports and making and selling sports related items at events around town with his wife. He was known for his compassion for others, his big heart for dogs, and always having sour candy readily available.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia. His sons Robert and Anthony. His grandchildren Journey and Legend. His parents Teddy and Elodia and his brother Ted Jr.
He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Guzman.
The funeral service will be held at Basham Funeral home. 3312 Niles St 93306. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00pm.
