Juan Vasquez Jr., 57, passed away on June 2, 2019, in Lost Hills. He was born on Oct. 13, 1961, in El Paso, Texas, to Juan and Ramona Vasquez.
Juan grew up in El Paso until the age of 13, then his family moved to Wasco. He worked with Tom's Autobody and Ron's as a mechanic.
He enjoyed spending time with family and fishing.
Juan is survived by his children, Juan Vasquez III (Denice), Michael Vasquez (Nichole), Bobby Vasquez (Krystal), Irma Vasquez (Alex) and Monica Vasquez (Ruben); his sisters, Irma Ortiz (Tony) and Sylvia (Salvador); his grandchildren, Sarahi Gurrola, Miguel Vasquez, Juan Vasquez, Emilio Vasquez, Ruben Lopez, Haley Lopez and Alex Ibarra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Juan was preceded in death by his father, Juan; mother, Ramona; brother, Ramon; sister Ramona, & niece Veronica.
A viewing will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care, 343 State Ave, Shafter, on Sunday, June 23, from 5 to 10 p.m., with the Rosary service beginning at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will begin Monday, June 24, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 1300 9th Place, Wasco, and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
