Juan Jose Zuniga was born May 2, 1948 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He passed April 20, 2019 at home in Bakersfield, CA surrounded by his loving family.
He was drafted into the United States Army on April 18, 1968 at the age of 20. He served in the Vietnam conflict from October 1968 through September 1969. Having been wounded in the war, he was transferred to Letterman Hospital in San Francisco, CA, where he was honorably discharged on March 20, 1970. In 1977, He was recruited by NCR corporation to work repairing computers. He worked for them for 24 years. He retired in 2002 due to illness.
Juan is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Lupe; his loving daughter, Deborah Ann Ramos and her spouse, Eddie; 3 sons, Joe, Ted, Eric and their spouses, Rosalinda, Anne and Blanca; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jesse and Francisco Zuniga; 7 sisters , Ines Hernandez, Carmen Montoya, Dolores Ramirez, Mary Pulido, Isabel Brewer, Eugenia Zuniga, Rosa Zuniga and their spouses. Juan had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He had many special friends including his family in Christ at Word of Life Worship Center. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Orozco Zuniga and his mother, Margarita Zuniga.
