Karen Forrest 1966-2023

Karen Forrest, 57 entered her heavenly home on Sunday, August 6th, 2023.

She was born in Bakersfield CA on February 7th, 1966, to the late Dennis and Jackie Shaffer. Karen was the youngest of three. 

Karen had four children: Michael, Joseph, Sabrina, and Alexander. She was a loving mother and did anything to show her children how much she loved them in her own special way. She had a very big heart and would help anyone with no questions asked. She was strong, passionate, and loving. She worked as a delivery driver, a caregiver, and a medical assistantto provide for her family. She was determined, anything she put her mind to, she would do it. She would go above and beyond to accomplish tasks. As she would say she was an “organized mess”. 

Karen gave her life to the Lord when she was a little girl. She rededicated her life to the Lord at 25 years old. She attended Living Waters Assembly of God for many years. She always wanted to be in the house of the Lord on Sundays. 

Karen absolutely loved going to the beach and spending time with family. She loved the sand between her toes and looking for sand dollars, and seashells. Anywhere she went she made sure to have the best time as possible. Her hobbies were crossword puzzles and any game that challenged her mind. 

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Dennis and Jackie Shaffer, Sons: Joseph Forrest and Alexander Martinez, Nephews: Jeffery Henderson, Justin Henderson, Niece: Cassandra Henderson

She is survived by her Children: Sabrina Castillo and her husband Jaime Castillo, Michael Forrest and his wife Alyssa Forrest, Sisters: Beverly Shaffer, Dianna Thomas, Niece: Rhiann Thomas, and Nephew: Lance Thomas
