Lawrence Edward Mena

Lawrence Edward Mena was born on July 19, 1940, in Bakersfield, California, and passed away on January 20, 2022, at the age of 81. He lived in Lamont for 28 years with his wife, Edith. Larry served in Vietnam with the Air Force from 1960 to 1963. He worked as an instrumentation technician in the oil fields before becoming a professional truck driver for 25 years. Larry's happiest moments were traveling cross country with his wife and two cats, Tiny and J.C., to visit his children in New York and Wisconsin. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ralph Mena. He is survived by his wife Edith, his brother Robert and sister Betty, his sons Anthony, Joel, and Brian, his stepson Kevin, and many grandchildren. Friends and family can attend the viewing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Basham Funeral Funeral Care at 3312 Niles Street from 5 to 8 pm. On February 3, a motorcycle hearse will transport his body to the National Cemetery for Larry's 10 am graveside funeral. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the local animal shelter.07/19/1940
