Lola Levita Watkins January 7, 1925 - December 5, 2020 Lola Levita Watkins was born January 7, 1925 in Stapp, Oklahoma. She was a resident of Bakersfield for over 70 years. She passed from this life at the age of 94 on December 5th, 2020 in Hilo, Hawaii with her daughter and son-in-law. A memorial will be held at Basham Funeral Care at 3312 Niles Street in Bakersfield, CA on Thursday, July 1st at 11 a.m. Her ashes will be interned at Bakersfield National Cemetery with her husband, George Hutson Watkins. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Drake and husband, Kenneth Drake of Hilo, Hawaii, grandchildren, Joshua Drake, Jamie Arakaki, and Randahl Drake, 5 great grandchildren, her brother, Kenneth Kearby of Bakersfield, and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Lola was a committed Christian and an active member of Bakersfield Christian Life Center, now known as Disciples Church. She volunteered in several Christian ministries working in the church office, a christian radio station and the Rescue mission.
