Lonnie Herschel Sullivan

Herschel "Lonnie" Sullivan, 77, of Bakersfield, CA succumbed to cancer on Saturday with his loving wife and son by his side. He was born on January 13, 1939 in Union, Illinois to Lucy and Travis Sullivan. After serving in the Army he returned home where he met and married his sweetheart JoEvelyn on October 21, 1982. Over the 45 years he drove a truck for Wholesale Fuels. Lonnie enjoyed playing dominoes and cards with his brothers and sisters. He loved to garden and fish, play weekly lotto or Keno at the casino. He had a passion for watching Sunday Football on his big screen TV.

Lonnie's love and bond with his kids was unique and undeniable. Lonnie is survived by his wife, JoEvelyn; brothers, Ivan and Laverne; sisters, Sadie, Pansy and Daphine; sons, Lonnie Jr., Rick and Billy; daughters, Debi, Pam and Dee. Lonnie has 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.



A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street). Followed by a gathering at the Family's Residence, contributions welcomed.

As Lonnie would say. "Do it next week."
