Lucrecia San Miguel

December 27, 1933 — January 22, 2018

Lucrecia Ramos San Miguel passed away peacefully with a luminous smile upon her face, surrounded by the love of her daughters and their families by her side on January 22, 2018. Born December 27, 1933 in the small town of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was the youngest of five children to Martin and Elisa Ramos. As a child, she grew up enjoying basketball, volleyball, and roller-skating. In 1946 her family migrated to the United States and settled in California. It was the result of a car accident near the Grapevine on Interstate 5 that led Lucrecia and her family to settle in Bakersfield, where her mother was treated at a local hospital; it was there Lucrecia met the love of her life, Paul San Miguel. Paul and Lucrecia married in the fall of 1955, and over the course of nine years, had three daughters together. In 1979, she became a citizen of the United States.

Lucrecia was a devoted wife and homemaker for 55 years. The love she had for her children and grandchildren knew no boundaries - she always went above and beyond to provide and support each and every one of them. She had a love for gardening, sewing, and family gatherings especially when it came to Thanksgiving, it was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family, always making favorite dishes for her grandchildren, and even cooking an occasional lunch for a grandchild's basketball team. Above all, her Catholic faith was the main foundation for her family. Devoted to the blessed mother, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, she left peacefully knowing her faith in God will live on with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul San Miguel; parents, Martin and Elisa Ramos; sisters - Otilia and husband Armando Fuentes; Velia and husband Bill Stansell; sister-in-law, Ramona Ramos; nephew, Oscar Fuentes.

Lucrecia is survived by her older brothers Jose de la Cruz and wife, Anita Ramos, and Alvaro Ramos.

Lucrecia leaves behind her three daughters: Lucy and Bob Rivera; Martha and Rupert Salinas; Irma and Eric Bonas; seven grandchildren - Francie & Wes Sloss, Adam Rivera; Martin & Amaris Salinas, Valerie Salinas, Victoria & Philip Valdez; Lacey and Ryan Bonas; Five great grandchildren - Jayline, Haylie, & Brady Sloss; Seraphina & Luciana Salinas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
