Manson Lee (Tadpole) Smith, 70 years of age, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 in Bakersfield, California. He was born September 8, 1946. His wife Roberta Smith, of 49 years, son Michael Smith and his parents Lee and Doris Smith preceded Manson in death. He is survived by his two siblings Gladys Copeland and James Smith, his three daughters and two son in-laws Doris Smith, Christina and Albert Dominguez and Janie and Carlos Garcia. He loved spending time with his grandchildren Zack, Mark and Jay Gutierrez, Noe Ramirez, Angel and Carlos Garcia, Ashley, Alyssa, Albert Jr., Cameron, Kole and Chloie Dominguez and great-grandchildren Ethan and Emiliano Garcia, Ivy Shutt and Matthew Gutierrez.
Our father was a coach for the Lamont JBA and spent countless hours at the Lamont Park giving back to the community and the sport of baseball that he loved. His dream was to have enough grandchildren someday to form his own baseball team, something that was made possible.
Both Tad and Roberta were dedicated Bakersfield Blaze baseball fans that pride themselves in never missing a home game and being part of the Blaze Booster Club.
Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Basham's in Lamont, Ca., and graveside services on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Greenlawn Cemetery (Panama Lane) beginning at 11:00 am. Manson's family would like to thank Basham's for all their services.
