Margaret Jeannette Snapp

December 28, 1945 — December 4, 2018

Margaret "Maggie" Jeannette Snapp was born in El Paso, Texas on December 28, 1945, to Jess R. McLoy and Jimmie Lovine. After a brief, but courageous battle with cancer, she went to her heavenly home on December 4, 2018.

Maggie was a hardworking woman who didn't let disease or adversity keep her down. She worked in various jobs from watching for fires in a lookout tower in the mountains of Cuyama to waitressing at the Sahara in South Lake Tahoe. Maggie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999, she continued to work at BJ Services until her health just wouldn't allow it. Maggie and her husband, Bob, then moved to Oklahoma where they loved having coffee on their porch while relishing the wildlife surrounding them. After Bob suddenly passed away in 2015, Maggie moved back to Bakersfield where she enjoyed spending more time with her children and grandchildren. She attended and contributed to Open Door Fellowship. Maggie's caring and loving spirit always provided encouragement for her family and friends.

Maggie had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She kept those around her in good spirits even when she wasn't at her best. Maggie enjoyed going to the movies and giving her friend, Carol Campbell, a hard time about who had more points on their rewards cards. When she wasn't able to get out anymore, she and her daughter, Michele, delighted in watching Hallmark movies.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Curtis (Shannon) Ford and Michele (Kevin) Bovberg, her grandchildren, Cory (Mayra) Ford, Courtney (Josh) Donaldson and Cody Ford, sister, Georgeanne Paris, special brother in law, Buck Sallee, sister in law, Ruth McLoy, best friend, Sue Sebesta, along with a host of family and a wide circle of friends.

A special thank you goes to Dr. Raj Patel for his compassionate care of Maggie.

No services will be held at her request.

Maggie's last wish to all those who loved her:

I WISH YOU ENOUGH

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest of joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough "hellos" to get you through the final "goodbye."
