Obituary

Margie Anderson

Margie Anderson transitioned to Glory on November 25, 2018 at Kaiser Hospital, Harbor City California. Margie was born On January 23, 1940 in Cruger Mississippi to Otha B. and Geola Jones. She moved to Bakersfield, California in 1941 at the age of one with her parents and siblings, Sister Eunice and Brother Otha Jones Jr.

Margie grew up in Bakersfield attending Potomac Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and graduated from Bakersfield High School. Margie loved to cook and her first job during her junior and senior year of high school was cooking full seven course meals for the Nuns in the Rectory of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her love of fashion led to her next job at "The Coed" dress shop in downtown Bakersfield for several years.

She found her true love and passion by attending nursing school and obtained her CNA license in 1967. Margie worked at Kern Medical Center in the Emergency Room Department, "which she loved" until injuries to her knee forced her into early retirement in 1976. She was always a giving person and her care of the patients and love of the hospital staff reflected that gift of giving that was in her heart.

Margie Anderson had this testimony, "She loved The Lord," and she was a faithful member and Church Mother of Freewill Outreach Ministries in Bakersfield. Her life and her perseverance and refusal to give up served as a true witness of God's goodness.
