Maria Infante Ayala was born in Mercedes, Texas on April 17, 1953. Although she loved her home state of Texas, at the age of 5 she moved to California and finally settled in the Garden in the Sun Arvin, California in 1963. She met and married the love of her life Matias Ayala, who she met at St. Thomas Church in Arvin. She was known for her smile, laughter, and her love of Tejano and Norteo music. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, being a devoted Catholic, and being around her family. Mary, as she was known, was also known for her loyalty, dedication and work ethic, which she passed down to her three boys Jose Ramiro, Luis Alberto, and Robert Mathias. She also enjoyed spending time with her beautiful flowers, watching her granddaughter Olivia, and watching her Dallas Cowboys. She is survived by her Husband of forty years, her three sons, her granddaughter, her daughter-in-law, Rocio, two brothers Robert, Leroy Infante, two sisters Yolanda Rivera and Norma Borjorquez, and hundreds of nieces and nephews across the United States and Mexico. Mary had recently retired from the Arvin Union School District where she contributed 25 years as a Cafeteria Cook. She fed thousands of children that called the district their home. She loved interacting with children, and encouraging her unofficial kids. She loved telling us stories of the children that were our unofficial nieces and nephews who would see her at the supermarket or at church and call her grandma. On October 15, 2020, Mary joined her parents, her in laws and her sister in heaven.
