Maria Isabel Rodriguez Lopez

Maria Isabel Rodriguez Lopez was born in La Planta Electricidad, Zamora, Michoac¡n, Mexico on July 22, 1939. She immigrated to the United States where she worked primarily in the agricultural fields all across California. She was a beautiful, strong, courageous woman who always served the needs of her family before the needs of herself. Migrating across the agricultural seasons, she raised and supported 6 children, Silvestre Tapia III, Antonio Tapia, Maria Tapia, Jose Luis Tapia, David Tapia, and Juana Tapia, ultimately settling her family in Kern County. In Arvin, Lamont and Bakersfield, she would see her children grow, graduate High School and establish families of their own in which she remained a central figure. She helped raise more than twenty grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would also remain close to her brother, Luis who remained in Mexico, as well as her two sisters, Socorro and Concepcion who lived in the Lamont and Bakersfield areas. She was and an avid gardener with the greenest of thumbs and was known throughout the family for her ability to make anything grow and prosper with her tender care. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and taking trips all across the west coast, Hawaii and Las Vegas.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents Jose Rodriguez and Carmen Lopez, her brother Luis, her sister Socorro, her ex-husband, Silvestre Tapia II and her son Antonio Tapia. She will be loved and remembered by family and friends including numerous nieces and nephews. She went to the Lord a day shy of her 79th birthday in peace on July 21, 2018.
