Marjorie was born in Lyons, Michigan (the eldest of eight children) and spent the majority of her life in Ventura, California with the final seventeen years in Bakersfield. While attending high school she met her soulmate, Jerald Jerene Swainston and they were married January 28, 1942. They raised their three children, Pamela S. Berry (Roger) of Bakersfield, CA, Daniel J. Swainston (JuDee) of Bakersfield, CA, and Gordon R. Swainston (Brenda) of Ventura, Ca.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Jerald and her granddaughter Erin Maureen Swainston. She is survived by her three children; six grandsons, Danny, John, Chad, Tylor, Spencer and Connor. One granddaughter, Stevi Nicole. Five great granddaughters; Nicole, Samantha, Elyssa, Bailey Jo, and Beau. One great grandson, Jacob.
Marj's work included, daycare, cook with Ventura Unified School District, volunteer work with "Knit a Prayer" which donated shawls to family members receiving their fallen soldiers at Dover Air Force Base (of which she was extremely proud) and various other positions which always included children. She was at her best when cooking the holiday meals, surrounded by family and the grandchildren snatching a hot roll just out of the oven. She will be sorely missed by all that were touched by her loving and caring ways.
