Mark Roy Bethel, age 65, passed away April 12, 2021 in Bakersfield at Mercy SW Hospital. He was born on Sept. 14, 1955 in Taft, CA to Opal & Paul Bethel. He attended local schools and graduated from Taft High in 1973. Mark worked for 45 years in the oilfield industry and retired as an oilfield mechanic with Oxy Petroleum. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Maryann Bethel. His son Payden Bethel of Tahlequa, Ok., his step daughters and son-in laws, Priscilla & CJ Casey; Julia & Mason Geiger and Raianna Ramirez and Roy Ramirez, lll. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Wayne & Kathie Bethel of Taft; sister, Alice Evans of Tulsa; sister and brother-in-law, Susan & Steven Lynch of Bakersfield and his 3 precious grandchildren who will miss their papa. Mark was preceded in death by his mother Opal in 1989 and his father Paul in 1995. When I die, hallelujah by and by I'll fly away.
