Obituary for David Steven Fernandez-Lopez David Steven Fernandez-Lopez, loving husband, and father to 5 children, age 46 passed away due to complications with pneumonia on September 13th, 2021, at Downtown Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield. He is survived by his wife, Tilla and their son, Solomon and his children Nicholas, Samantha, Sabina and Martin, his mother, Teresa, his sister Jessica, his brother Paul, grandson Alec, and several nephews and nieces. David was born December 13th, 1974, in Bakersfield to his father Martin and mother Teresa Esperiqueta. He was highly intelligent and was always educating himself in new things. He finished high school early at the age of 15. He felt strongly about education and encouraged others to further their own education. He was a man that could do anything he put his mind to. He was an artist, a storyteller, an excellent speaker, listener, advisor, and problem solver. He went out of his way to help others in need whether it was for family or strangers. He took on the most difficult problems and always found a way to solve them. He was a hard worker, who never gave up and was a Rock for his family to turn to. He was warm, friendly, full of charisma and had a huge heart. He enjoyed having conversations with others. He had the ability to reach others in a positive way and make them feel as if he understood everything they were going through. People were drawn to that. He was the man who opened the door for others and always greeted people he came across. He enjoyed making others laugh. Everywhere he went, he had a joke or comment for somebody that would always make them smile. He touched so many people’s lives, more than he even knew. David was a loving husband and an amazing father who loved his family wholeheartedly and made them feel loved every day and even in death. He would have moved mountains for them if he could. He met his wife Tilla in November 2015 through an online game they played together. They began speaking to each other on the phone, found so many things in common and met each other within a month at a diner in Paso Robles. For them, love came so quickly and they were married in Jan. 2018. They were both blessed with their son, Solomon whom he called, “the apple of his eye”. He enjoyed traveling and having daytrips to the beach, park, and zoo. David enjoyed spending weekend mornings with family going to yard sales, flea markets, feeding the ducks with his son or watching his next Netflix Novela. He enjoyed spending Sunday mornings, going to breakfast with his Mom eating menudo and watching their Netflix Novelas. David was a wonderful uncle who always had gifts ready to give out and loved showing them magic tricks. He was a collector of watches, antiques, and Superman memorabilia. He loved many genres of music especially music from the 70s and 80s but his favorite band was the Beach Boys. David had an appreciation for life and saw beauty in things that others didn’t whether it was an antique or a thing, music, a person or just a moment that passed by. David was a believer in the Lord, and he loved and trusted the Lord. We cherish all the memories he has left in our hearts and we will see him again when we also go home to Heaven. He left a lasting impression on all who met him. David would sometimes say, “With me, comes Change”, and he was right. He has changed our lives in so many ways, for the better. He can never be forgotten, for there was no one ever like him and he was a blessing to us all. He is terribly missed and loved by family, friends, and all who knew him. A funeral service will be scheduled and held for October 6th. Deacon Roy Hernandez will officiate the services. Obituary for Martin Esteban Fernandez-Lopez In loving Memory of Martin Esteban Fernandez-Lopez, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to all. “A wise man can become anything he puts his mind to, he can do great things and change lives of those around him.” God called my brother home on September 13th of 2021. He was a son born to Martin Ray Fernandez-Lopez and Teresa DeJesus Espericueta. My brother was the middle child of our family. The father to many children God blessed him with 13 children in life. He was a loving brother to Paul Anthony Fernandez-Lopez and Yesenia Carrasco. A loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. As well as a Grandfather. A strong helping friend to many in life. He loved his life partner Tilla very much. He lived a good life and was able to see so many places in life. We are so distraught about his sudden passing we had truly believed he would pull through as he had in the past. We ask that you keep our family in your prayers especially my mother at this time. My brother will always be forever missed and cling to the promise we will see each other again in Heaven. Thank you all whom loved my brother and to all whom made a difference in our lives as well as to those whom extended their condolences and love our way. We truly appreciate you all. Private service will be held In Honor of my brother but will be immediate family only as he requested. Thank you for understanding his request.
