Mary Combs

Mary Beatrice Combs was born on February 15, 1932, in Collinsville, Oklahoma to John Jewell Combs and Bertha Martha Mae Bowlin. She passed away on June 11, 2024, in Bakersfield, California surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her sister: Betty Apellido; her children: Andy Laeno, Antonio Laeno, Mercy Laeno (daughter-in-law), Arcenia (Jimmy) Ronquillo, Barbara (Jeff) Crose, Antero (Patricia) Mangaser, Maria Mangaser (daughter-in-law), and Feling (Charlie) Mayfield, and honorary son Christopher (Lavern) Laeno. She had 10 children, 47 grandchildren, 110 great grandchildren, 51 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Jewell Combs and Bertha Martha Mae Bowlin, Elaina Mae Laeno Nickerson (daughter), Mary Ann Mateo-Laeno and Maria (Lupe) Laeno (daughters-in-law), David James Laeno, Alan Wayne Ballesteros, Bonifacio Ricardo Mangaser (sons), and her honorary son Simplicio Alejandro Combs Saberon, Jr.

She will be remembered for her love of family, the Lord, cooking, crocheting, and singing. Mary Beatrice may not have remembered all her grandchildren’s names, but she certainly tried.
