Mary Eadie Haley

Eadie passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob and her three daughters, Debbie, Cindy, and Robin. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann and Dottie; and her brother, Bobby. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce and Mittie; and her brother, Jim.

Eadie was born in Alabama and moved to California at the age of eight. She met the love of her life, Bob, in 1950 and married eight months later in June 1951. Early in their marriage Eadie worked as a telephone operator and Bob worked as a station attendant for Chevron. As years progressed, Bob owned his own Chevron dealership, with Eadie supporting him in every way, eventually working by his side for many years until they retired together in June of 2000.

In their personal life they raised a loving family including three daughters, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Eadie was the center of the family and everyone looked to her for strength, kindness, and of course, love. During the years that she was raising her daughters, her skills as a homemaker were unsurpassed. Her attention to detail was always evident, from every stitch of her daughters' hand-crafted dresses, to the meticulously prepared lunches she sent to work with Bob each day. Her little touches insured that the Haley family exhibited her love and care. To her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Eadie was a source of fun and laughter. She was available for every event in their lives and could be counted on for anything they needed or wanted.

Anyone who came in contact with Eadie will remember her generous spirit. From handing out cookies to all the young customers at their Chevron Market, to giving out endless smiles and hugs, she made everyone feel special.

Her loss leaves a huge void in all of us, but we must remember to feel lucky and blessed to have loved her for the time we had together.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.). Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park (9101 Kern Canyon Rd.).
