Born in Vallejo, CA, and passed away after a month-long illness in Memorial Hospital; Bakersfield, CA. He was a long time Bakersfield resident for close to 50 years.
Michael joined the Marine Corp July 17, 1963 and was a proud Marine who loved his country and fellow Veterans. He served two tours in Vietnam 1965-1966. He was honorably discharged as a Sargent June 30, 1967. Michael belonged to the American Legion Post #682 in East Bakersfield and spent many hours up there with his veteran buddies or at Camp Hamilton. Michael worked as a Firefighter, Carpenter, in the oil fields for Atlantic Oil, and with Gary Drilling, Wellhead Machinery, Rain for Rent, the Trailer Company and Youngs Transfer & Storage where he retired as Warehouse Manager/Dispatcher. He was a 49er fan, liked camping with his family, fishing with his friends, shooting pool, doing his daily crossword puzzle and talking about Nascar races with daughter Lynnette. He loved being with people and whenever he met someone new, he always found something or someone they would have in common.
