Michael Ray Taylor Senior, also known as Mountain Mike, age 69, passed away on March 18, 2020 in Bakersfield, CA.
He was born in Ventura, CA on January 6, 1951 to Dale and Zelma Taylor.
Michael grew up in Arroyo Grande, CA and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School.
After high school he worked for the Forest Service and took much pride in his work
passing on stories to his grandchildren. Afterwards, he worked as a store clerk and
soon became the successful tire salesmen we all knew and loved. After years of
working for other companies, he opened his business: Mountain Mikes Tires. He
managed his business for many years in Lake Isabella CA until he retired.
Michael married Vivian Joyce Taylor in 1971 in Arroyo Grande, CA. They were happily
married until Vivian passed away in 2006. He married Debbie Taylor in 2009 and
remained happily married to her until he passed away.
He loved fishing with his father, Dale. He enjoyed the great outdoors and four wheeling
with his grandchildren. He loved to travel and visited many areas of the United States
after retiring. His family was the biggest joy in his life. Lake Isabella was always
Mountain Mikes home.
Michael is survived by his wife Debbie Taylor; his son Michael Taylor Jr, and his wife
Priscilla; his daughter Tammy Wimmer and her husband Casey; his grandchildren
Savannah Ingram, Landon Ingram, Alicia Carter and her husband Brian, Emily Montoya
and her husband Michael, Dustin Taylor, Alexis Taylor, Katie Taylor, and his great
grandchildren Ryan Bernstein and Haylie Carter along with his brother Leonard Taylor
and his wife Judy; and several stepchildren and step grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Zelma Taylor; his wife Vivian
Taylor, and his sister and brother Larry and Martha Countryman.
There will not be a funeral service held at this time due to unforeseen circumstances.
We will be holding a celebration of life at a later date.
