MILDRED FRANCIS FINDLEY (Palmer) Sept. 30, 1932 - Jan. 8, 2021

Mildred was born Sept. 30, 1932 in Phoenix, AZ, to Orville & Pearl Palmer. A wonderful wife, who was preceded in death by her husband Osie Russell. Mother of three, Pamela Clark (Edward) of Albuquerque, NM; Tim Findley (Vicky) of Bakersfield; and Michael Findley (Linda) of Novato. A tender loving grandma to her grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Her life was filled with numerous events that formed innumerable memories for her, that she would often share. Tales about growing up with her siblings, Evalyn and Corky, and their great adventures, would lend to stories about swimming in the canal and watching chickens float by, or picking cotton on a hot day with her sister, or running from her Daddy when she stole a smoke, under the dining room table, at the age of 9. Through the years she was a seamstress, making clothes for her family and friends. During the 1950's she was the PTA President for Mt. Vernon School where her children attended. Her great charm was shared for many years with others, when she entered into the Eastern Star, Oildale Chapter 559, of Bakersfield where, in the late 70's, she rose to the position of Worthy Matron. Always one to share, or laugh at a funny joke, she would make sure to call you and tell you what she'd heard that day. There was never a day missed. She loved shopping and everybody knew, Fridays were Grandma shopping days. She loved to talk about anything and everything. Mildred made many friends and continued to do so well into her later years. She was funny, loving, and seriously feisty. She loved pink and baby blue, reading, laughing, joking and spending time with family. She always called to check on you; Was never the first to let go of a hug, and Always gave a tender, "bye bye babe" as you left. She is so incredibly missed. The family would like to thank her Guardian nurses for all of their tender care over the years. Mildred will be laid to rest January 30, 2021. Graveside services are at 12:00pm; Union Cemetery, 730 E. Potomac Avenue, BFD. Due to Covid restrictions there is a 50 person limit to the service. Basham Funeral Care will provide a Facebook Live event on their FB page for those who cannot attend.
