Mo Li Hsia Liang, aged 93 1/2, passed away early Wednesday, February 5, 2020. While her health had been in decline for quite some time, it had begun to really improve with medication stabilization following different hospitalizations for AFIB and blood pressure issues. Unfortunately, she broke her hip early Tuesday morning and required hip replacement surgery. While surgery went well, she ultimately did not wake from surgery.
Li Hsia lived a long life and she was ever by her family's side. She moved to California in 1984 to help raise her grandchildren. Li Hsia provided unwavering love, steady care, and constant direction to the young children to behave appropriately. She also kept up the family home, taking on cooking, cleaning, and never-ending laundry duties for an extended family of seven.
In more recent years, Li Hsia was accompanied throughout the day by Cinnamon the cat until the recent passing of Cinnamon. Cinnamon was the constant meowing, noisy, cuddling cat at Li Hsia's side. She loved to sit in Li Hsia's chair, keeping Li Hsia, the chair, or both, warm. In return, Li Hsia would feed Cinnamon various Chinese dishes to eat. To the end, her mind was sharp and her appetite still pretty strong. We will miss her strength, spirit, and grace ever so dearly.
The viewing will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. at Basham Funeral Care, 3312 Niles Street in Bakersfield, California.
