Nora Borrero was born on April 7, 1938 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. She passed away on February 14, 2021 in Bakersfield, Ca, at the age of 82. She is preceded in death by her sons Isaias and Eduardo (Eddie). She is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, German Borrero, her children Veisaida, William, and Edwin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Nora, came to California when she was 11 years old. On April 1, 1957, she married the love her life German. Together they had 5 kids, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, which she loved very much.
Nora work in agricultural until she became a preschool teacher. To become a teacher, she was encouraged by her good friend Armida Bermudez to complete her education. She graduated from Arvin High and then she attended Bakersfield College, where she earned her AA degree. She was a teacher for over 30 years and enjoyed being a teacher. She loved all her students very much.
Nora was very proud of her Puerto Rican culture. She loved cooking and listening traditional Puerto Rican music, musicaJibara. She loved to participate in the traditional Puerto Rican parties, the parrandas. She was a former president of the organization Boriquas Unidos en California, which she enjoyed very much. She continued to be a member of the organization after her term. She was active member and enjoyed participating in the activities of the organization.
Nora was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the privilege to be touched by her life. In her memory, a celebration of life will take at Basham-Lamont Funeral Care, in Lamont, Ca, on Wednesday March 3, 2021. Viewing will be from 5pm-9pm. The Mass will take at St. Augustine Parish, in Lamont, Ca on March 4, 2021 at 10am. Following the Mass, the graveside service will be at the Arvin Cemetery in Arvin, Ca.
