OMA LEE DUNBAR
1925 - 2016
Oma Lee Dunbar, 91, went to walk with our Lord and Savior on November 9, 2016 in
Bakersfield, CA, peacefully, with family by her side. Oma Lee was born In Hot Springs Arkansas to Amos Madison Keener and Mamie Sarah Mae Keener on October 22, 1925. At the age of 7, Oma Lee and her family moved to Visalia, CA. She graduated from Visalia High School in 1945, a war bride. She worked as a meat wrapper for
Mayfair Market for 27 years. Oma Lee married the love of her life, Carl Milton Dunbar in 1968. They enjoyed a wonderful 38 years of marriage prior to Carl's death in 2006. Oma Lee's fondest memories were of fishing with her numerous friends and spending time with her family and loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love. Oma Lee is preceded in death by brother Glen Keener, parents Amos and Mamie, and her loving
husband Carl. Oma Lee is survived by brothers and sisters, Loyd Keener and wife Mary, Leota Phillips and husband Bill, James (JR) Keener, LaVerne Wilson and husband Alvin, Rodney Keener and wife Perri; children Larry Morgan, Gerry Morgan, David Dunbar, Gayal Pitts Black, Lori Dunbar; Kenneth Dunbar and wife Trish; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren (and counting).
Visitation from 5:00-8:00 pm at Basham Funeral Care 3312 Nile St, Bakersfield, CA.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at First United Pentecostal Church 1418 Columbus St Bakersfield, CA 93301, with Pastor Kevin Bradford officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery 3700 River Blvd. Bakersfield, CA.
