Patricia Kennedy

Patricia Ann Henry was born in Texarkana, Texas, on January 15,

1943, to her parents Lesley Sr. and Rhoda Henry. She was the third

child of ten children. Patricia was a loving, caring, and wonderful

mother, wife, sister, and a friend to so many people. 

Patricia graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1960 and attended

Bakersfield Jr. College. She was baptized and attended Pleasant 

View Baptist Church. Later, the family attended St. John Missionary

Baptist Church under the leadership of late Pastor Dr. Tyree Toliver. 

She truly loved the Lord all her life. Patricia relocated to Inglewood, 

Ca. upon getting married to her late husband Reverend Willie B. 

Brown. They attended Park Windsor Baptist Church under Pastor

Terrell Taylor of Inglewood, Ca. Patricia worked in several jobs in Bakersfield

from the House of Fabrics, Juvenile Hall, B.A.R.C, and Mercy Hospital.

 In 2015 she retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail

 carrier after 20 years of service. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents:

Lesley Sr. and Rhoda Henry, brothers Isaac, Lesley Jr., Jerome, Gregory, and

Cedric Henry. Patricia leaves to cherish her memory: 

her daughter Trina L. Carter of Bakersfield, and her son, Ellis Carter 

III of Oxnard, Ca. She also leaves her brother Stanley Henry of 

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her sisters, Cynthia Worthy, Bonita Griggs,

and Stephanie Henry of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Alexander Clark 

and Reba Orona of Bakersfield and a host of relatives and friends.
