Joe was born on February 22,1933 in Bakersfield, California to Francisco and Consquaela Lopez. He attended Bakersfield High School and U.C.L.A before entering the Army in 1954-1957. Shortly after he married his wife Dora, who proceeds him in death. He was employed with Kern County Land, which became Tenneco West, as a timekeeper for 40 years. Joe loved to tell jokes and make people laugh, he was always in a good mood and he had a huge heart.
He is survived by his daughter Katie Blair, two grandsons Tyson and Kaileb, his brother Frank and Agnes Lopez, sister Louisa Lopez of Bakersfield, and Connie and Rudy Ruiz of Fresno, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Candance Assisted Living and Optimal Hospice for taking such good care of him the last 4 months.
A viewing will be held at Basham on Oregon Sunday, from 5-8pm and services on Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 10am.
