PILAR NAVARETTE GOMEZ
It is with great pain and sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle who went home to be with the lord and his loved ones that have preceded him. He was born September 30, 1925 in Sierra Blanca, Texas and passed away peacefully on May 21, 2019 at Brookdale Riverwalk Skilled Facility in Bakersfield, Ca.
He is survived by his son Pilar Jr and daughter-in-law Josie, his grandchildren Andrew (Candace), Stephanie (Isaac), Samantha (Moris) and Ashley (Mark); twelve great grandchildren; his two brothers Manuel and Robert, numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
Pilar worked at Giumarra Vineyards Corporation for several years. After leaving his job with Giumarra he dedicated his life to helping his son with his family.
Being the independent person that he was he lived by himself most of his years until 2012. In July of that year, due to his health he was forced to move in with his son and daughter-in-law which was a very difficult choice for him. After adjusting to his new life, he unfortunately had a stroke in August of 2016 which caused him to be admitted into Brookdale Riverwalk Skilled Facility where he lived the rest of his years until his passing.
We the family, would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Riverwalk Skilled Facility for all the care they provided him with for the past two years and nine months. We would also like to thank the family and friends that visited him during his stay at Brookdale. He really enjoyed their visits, no matter how short or long they were.
