Racheal Gardea Dominguez

Racheal Gardea Dominguez was born February 27, 1935, in Bakersfield, Ca to Manuel Gardea and Guillermina Cantos. She was received by our Lord, March 15, 2025, at the age of 90. Racheal attended local Bakersfield schools and graduated from Kern High School. She later went on to work for the Greenfield Union School District as a Bilingual Teacher for 25 years.

Racheal enjoyed spending time with her husband of 62 years,Fred P. Dominguez, Sr. They loved riding horses, attending rodeos, frequenting the casinos, cooking at home, and dancing together whenever they had the chance. She was very involved with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved attending all their sporting and school events.

Racheal is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Fred P. Dominguez, Sr.; daughter Sandra Rainsberry; sisters Dolores Ybanez and Sheila Cazares; brothers Ralph Cazares and Manuel Gardea, Jr.

She is survived by her children John Grijalva (Cindy); Daniel Grijalva (Kim); Yvonne Tomlinson (Chuck); Diana Arredondo (Cosme); Fred P. Dominguez, Jr., Ramon F. Dominguez; son-in-law Gary Rainsberry; (15) grandchildren; (28) great grandchildren and (6) great-great grandchildren; her sister Rose Alderete; brothers Nick Cazares and Gilbert Cazares.

A rosary will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at her daughter Diana Arredondo’s home, from 3pm to 4pm for immediate family.

A mass in remembrance of Racheal will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 E California Ave., at 10am.

A special thank you to Tia Lala, her family, and the staff at Hoffman Hospice; thank you for tending to our mother in her time of need.
