Our beloved husband and father has died. R.S. "Joe" was born in Cookeville, TN at his aunt's hospital.
In 1943, the family moved to CA, via Texas and Florida. Upon arrival in Bakersfield, Jost & Ledbetter was formed.
In 1950, he married Janice Keyzers, the union was blessed with 2 children.
In 1951, he joined the Air Force and upon discharge, he retired to become a hardwood artisan. He replaced & refinished homes and gymnasiums from CA to Canada. In the intervening years, he became a successful entrepreneur known for his abilities and integrity. Ocean fishing, at which he excelled, with good and dear buddies, was his passion. We will all miss his sense of humor.
Jan & Joe celebrated 67 years of marriage with friends and family on Thanksgiving day!
He is survived by his wife Jan, son Steven (Debbi), daughter Lisa (Jeff Barnett), grandsons David, Shane, and Jeb, brothers J.H. Jr. and Bill Ledbetter, sister-in-law and family Kay Hart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Nicholas A. Montoya.
