Rene Alonzo Damian, a beloved husband, father, and son, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023, after a relentless fight with cancer.
He was born in Acapulco, Guerrero, and raised as a young boy in Tijuana, Baja California. At the age of 19, he immigrated to the United States. After a few years, he returned to Tijuana, where he entered the seminary to pursue his calling of being a priest. However, after almost a year of studying there, he left to visit his family and found a job where he discovered his real vocation after meeting Cristina. They married shortly after and immigrated again to the United States, where they lived until the present.
Rene was a loving husband and father who cherished his family. He is survived by his wife Cristina; his son Angel Uriel; his daughter Hannia, whom he affectionately called his “chaparrita”; his mother Lucia Gonzalez; his sister Janeth Alonzo; and his brother Juan Alonzo.
He will be remembered for his courage, faith, and kindness by all who knew him.
