Ricardo Olivo, Sr.

Ricardo Olivo Passed away on September 8, 2023, at his home in Shafter, California. He was born January 16, 1956, In Phoenix, Arizona to Guadalupe and Donicaia Olivo. 
Ricardo grew up in Wasco, California. After High School he joined the Marine Corps in Santa Barbara, where he completed and received his GED. 
He married Sylvia in 1975 om Bakersfield, California. They were happily married for 48 years. Richard worked for McCaslin Trucking, Inc. He loved working and he enjoyed spending time with family and playing cards, especially with his grand kids. He enjoyed going to the casino and listening to Oldies.
Ricardo is survived by his spouse, Sylvia Olivo of Shafter, his children, Denise Ricardo, Jr.  Jacob and Cindy of Shafter. Hi siblings, Joe, Rory, Rene, Berta, Imelda, Gloria, Blanca, and Rosa; Grandchildren, Andrew, Israel, Erik, Adian, Victoria, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Georgie, Ellie, Mia, Ezekiel, Anthony, Ricardo III and Christian; great grandchildren, Evelyn, Owen, Ryder, Aalyaha, Levi and Jokne. He is also survived by Godchildren Rolando Saenz and Samantha Saenz.
Ricardo is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Donicia, siblings, Guadalupe, Enriquta, Marta, Oralia, and Rogelio. 
A Visitation will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care (343 State Ave. Shafter, CA 96236) on September 19, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. 
Funeral Service will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care (343 State Ave. Shafter, CA 96236) at 10 a.m. on September 20, 2023
