Richard Anthony Corallo
November 19, 1935 - February 6, 2018
Richard Anthony Corallo, 82, passed into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Richard was born to Gaetano and Nancy Corallo, November 19, 1935, in Alhambra, CA. He had one sister, Claire. Richard was taught by Catholic Jesuits through high school where he lettered in tennis. He received a degree in Engineering from UC Berkeley. Upon graduation from UCLA, Richard began his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he worked until his retirement in 1995. Among his positions at LLNL was as Division Leader and as Resident Manager of LLNL Nevada Operations. He spent his retirement traveling through the US, Canada and Europe with his wife and friends, biking, snow skiing, hiking, golfing and marshaling for the NCGA and USGA. He also loved classical music which was demonstrated by playing the piano and singing for almost 30 years in Valley Concert Chorale. Richard married Carol Winton in 1989. They lived in Livermore, Pleasanton and briefly in Bakersfield. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife, his two children, and three grandchildren, Cathe Bonette (Jim, Max), and Greg Corallo (Cheryl, Lauren and Matthew); and Carol's three daughters and five grandchildren, Pamela Boehler (Bruce, Kristen), Robin Winton (Rebecca and Joshua), and Jeanne Buckey (Darren, Eric and Alex). The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers in Bakersfield at Brookdale Sr. Living and Hoffmann Hospice.
A Memorial Service and Reception will be held in Dublin at St. Philip Lutheran Church on March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Salvation Army or a favorite charity.
