Rick James Carrisalez, passed away on July 12, 2019 at 7:59 p.m. at Kern Medical Hospital in Bakersfield, California. He was born on June 21, 1956 in Bakersfield, California to Seferino and Eloise Carrisalez.
Rick grew up in Bakersfield, California. He graduated from Foothill High School in Bakersfield, California in 1974. He started playing baseball as a Freshman and moved quickly to Varsity, because he was just that great of a baseball player. He played golf with the family. He loved all sports. His favorite professional teams were the Lakers and the Dodgers. Rick enjoyed spending time with his friends, lifting weights and listening to music while driving around in his Volkswagen bug and baby blue van. He was a great mechanic. He had a love for raising/training his Pit bulls, Sniper and Bumber. Rick was a buff, funny guy. He would say things like, "skoot-a-muck" and "Headquarters" that made us laugh. He worked at Coastal Drilling as a motorman for years then later worked for Con Glass as a welder before he retired.
Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Carrisalez and his granddaughter, Caylin Erika Rose Carrisalez. He is survived by his spouse, Kimber of Lake Hughes, CA.; son Branden (who looks a lot like his father) of Mission Viejo, CA; father, Seferino Carrisalez (Mary); brother Arthur Carrisalez (Pamela); sister, Vicki Brown (Steve) and his nephews and nieces, Corey Brown (Jessica), Amy Thomas, Jonathan Brown, Elliott Redd (Jenna) and Holly Rodriguez (Marcos). We want to thank the following people for their time, love and support during Rick's very difficult and challenging end of life journey. Uncle Manuel Carrizales, Sr. (Blanca) and cousin Manuel Carrizales, Jr. (Elizabeth), Nephew, Corey Brown (Jessica) and Cousin Andy Cantu and the medical team with Kern Medical Hospital.
To all the wonderful family members and friends, we are forever grateful for your prayers, support and condolences. May God comfort and bless you all. We thank God for his amazing grace (which cannot be earned). Rick James Carrisalez finished his race well with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Skoot-a-muck Headquarters - you are Home now. (Revelation 21:4) He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.
