Our dad passed away in the early part of September 2018, at home in Bakersfield CA.
Born March 3, 1945 in Bakersfield CA he grew up in Lamont CA. After graduating from Arvin High School, Bobby joined the army and served in the 8th Division as a paratrooper. Bobby returned home, married, had two children, worked in a variety of vocations and then spent the last 20 plus years caring for his parents until they passed.
Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie Asuncion and husband Edward of Alameda CA; son, Mark Gonzales and wife Vicki of Bakersfield; and four grandchildren Erik Michael Asuncion of Houston TX, Timothy Charles Asuncion of Alameda CA, Bryan Israel Gonzales of Bakersfield CA and Rebekah Grace Asuncion of Alameda CA. He is also survived by his siblings, Tony Gonzales; Eddie Gonzales; Irene Rodriguez and her husband Rod. And, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
We will always remember you as one with a big heart, a smile and laughter that never ended and patience. Boy, did you have a lot of patience. May we go forward from this day being more like you.
Graveside services will be held at 10:45am Thursday, October 4th, 2018 at Bakersfield National Cemetery 30338 East Bear Mountain Boulevard Arvin CA.
Reception will follow at 1220 East 18th St, Bakersfield CA, at 1pm.
