Including 5 grandchildren, 3 nieces, 4 nephews alongside numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert was a mechanic for 15 years, a handyman, a Native Elder and much more in life. He attended Compton Jr. High, East Bakersfield High School and went on to get certifications at Palo Verde College in the automotive field. To describe Robert in general terms does not do him justice, to those who knew him personally he was a kind and loving man dedicated to his family and his faith. In his community Robert was known to serve and care for anyone who came to his door or who bumped into him along their journey; He made sure everyone who was hungry left fed and anyone who needed clothes left clothed even if it was the shirt on his back. His dedication to serving and helping the people around him extended to his spiritual life at First Presbyterian Church on 17th St, you would see Robert there alongside his fellow congregation giving praise to our lord and savoir to remind himself how thankful he is to come up from having nothing and to now be helping others in need all while keeping a warm smile on his face and love in his heart. In his free time Robert enjoyed relaxing at home watching movies on his television with the company of his children and grandchildren, sharing stories of when he was younger and eating good food made with love. Growing up in Bakersfield, Robert definitely made an impact on the heart and soul of his community and the friends and family in it. All of us will go on with a large void in our hearts and minds but find solace someday we will be reunited with our beloved. Rest in peace Bobby aka “Snuffy”, in the language of our people the Yaqui tribe, Yahete “goodbye”, we will honor you and cherish your spirit Bobby may the creator guide you on your journey.
