On December 3, 1949 Roger Neely was born to the proud parents, Robert Neely, Sr. and Arlean Clark, in Grenada, Mississippi. Roger attended schools in Mississippi and moved to Bakersfield, California in 1977. Roger worked as a gas station attendant and a butcher for many years. Roger enjoyed football, basketball, listening to music and of course all the women. He never met a stranger.
Roger is preceded in death by his father, Robert Neely, Sr.; stepfather, Jake Sanders; mother, Arlean Sanders; two brothers, Fred Clark and Leroy Sanders; two sisters, Alberta Brown and Rosie Sanders.
Those remaining, devoted to his memory include seven brothers, Robert (Thelma) Neely of Chicago, Illinois, Billy Sanders, Eugene Sanders, Johnny (Kenita) Sanders, James (Yvette) Sanders, Curtis (Vicky) Sanders, of Bakersfield, California; four Sisters, Dorothy Gonzalez, Arlean Williams, Sandra Nettles and Christine Sanders all of Bakersfield, California and a host of many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
