Ronnie Dean Fleetwood, 72, passed away on August 18, 2019 at his home in Buttonwillow, CA. He was born on April 2, 1947 in Oildale, CA to Cleo and Pluma Fleetwood.
Ronnie grew up in Buttonwillow, CA. He graduated from Shafter Highschool in 1965 and went to work for the Buttonwillow Union and Elk Hills school district as a custodian and bus driver for 10 years. He then went on to work for the Shell Oilfield Company as a foreman for 15 years. After moving to Washington in 1991 he worked as a maintenance man for 20+ years before retiring back at home in Buttonwillow.
Ron married Norma in 1966 in Bakersfield, CA. They were happily married for 53 years. He was a member of The New Life Church of Buttonwillow where he was a senior youth group leader. He was also a member of the Wasco Bass Club for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and coaching various sports. His interest included spending time with family, storytelling and big foot.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Norma. His children, David & Michele Eighmy, Mike & Char Adams, Kevin & Candice Fleetwood and his grandchildren, John, Jessica, Mike, Ally, Kyle, David, Jasmine, Heather, JD, Tristen, Jamilynn, Chassity, Evan, Chelsea, Nick and his great grandchildren Ashlynn, Johnny, Kylee, Carson, Aubrey, Jaxon, Jace, River, Alex, Isabelle, Ezekiel, Emily, Abel, Lyric, Baby Boy and his brother Jim, his sister in laws Donna and Barbara and his nieces and nephews and many other relatives.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at The New Life Church in Buttonwillow on Monday August 26th. With a visitation for family at 9:00am-10:00am Public visitation from 10:00am-12:00pm and service starting at 12:00pm with a potluck to follow.
