Rory Anthony Seibel

Rory A. Seibel, 75, of Bakersfield, California passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023. He was born on August 9, 1947 in Colby, Kansas to Carl and Norma Seibel. 

Rory grew up in rural Logan County (Oakley) Kansas on a family farm. He farmed along his father in his early adult life. He served in the US Army from 1967-1973. 

He moved to Bakersfield in 1989 and retired after working 40 years in the oil industry. In his retired years he served as Grand Marshal of the American Legion Post 682 in Bakersfield. When he wasn’t volunteering his time at the Legion he enjoyed watching sports, reading and walking his beloved dogs Zeus, Rusty, Rudy, and Poppy.  He was an avid animal lover and is proceeded in death by many other furry family members.  
Rory is survived by his wife, Patricia. Two daughters, Christy Flaherty of Galva, Kansas and Carolyn Lathan of Salina, Kansas.  Grandchildren Brody, Harper, and Luke. He was a father and grandfather to many others not just his. 

Rory is also survived by his brothers, Doug (Jane) Seibel of Texas & Randy (Colleen) Seibel of Texas. Two sisters, Pat (John) Lysinger (Kansas) & Sam (Dale) Smith (Kansas), as well as many nieces and nephews. 

A Memorial will be Tuesday May 30th at 5pm American Legion Post 682 130 Goodman St. Bakersfield CA 93305. 
In Lieu of Flowers memorials can be sent to Veterans Association.
