Rose Elizabeth Picco was born in Bakersfield, CA to John and Rose Mattly. She first attended Bakersfield High and was later transferred to East High where she met Lloyd Picco, the love of her life. She graduated from Est High in 1945.
Rose married Lloyd on August 25, 1946. She settled in and became a housewife and soon a mother of three daughters.
She loved gardening and being with her family. She also loved playing board games with her family and dominos with her son-in-law. She was so proud of the fact she designed and drew the plans to the home she lived in for 70 years. She was associated with the Jehovah Witnesses for 68 years.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Picco of 65 years; her parents, John and Rose Mattly; brothers, John and Harold Mattly and grandson, Brian Carter.
She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Yolanda and Mark Gay, Debra and Charles Albee and Tina and Tim Carter; five grandchildren, Trinette Lidgett, Sabrina Shanaberger, Noah Allen, Kyle Carter and Desiree Doherty; 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.)
