Roy E. Slawson is now residing with his Father God, brother, Dougie, grandma, Cecilia and many other relatives, address: Heaven. He leaves behind, mom, Tamara Slawson, wife, April Slawson, grandparents, Roy and Barbara Shelton, grandpa, Zak, nephew, Vernon Vaughn IV, aunts, Gregette Clark and Andrea and Raymond Worth, cousins, Cori and Cari Cotton, Ryan, Allison, Mason, Nixon and Ashton Copeland, Brandon, Lexi, Tegan and Revyn Toy and many other relatives and friends.
Roy worked at Valley Steel, erecting steel buildings for many years. From there he went into construction. Roy touched many lives during his short time here with us. He even taught Rhonda how to cut a straight line with a skill saw. He was a strong, courageous man with a big heart. He took great pride in his family. He loved us dearly. Roy was our protector, he watched over us from treetops, roofs, bushes and you never knew he was there. He was as quiet as a mouse. Roy loved with everything he had. He loved God, church and Pastors Billy and Debbie Woods. Roy roofed churches, remodeled the men's and women's sober living homes, volunteered at City Serve and fed the homeless. He went out into the camps and spread God's word, he showed God's love. On Sunday at church, you would hear him sing (loud) and praise God. Roy suffered great pain with his cancer, but he never complained, he just wanted to spend what time he had left with his family. Roy, you are missed and loved so very much by so many. We cannot say Rest in Peace because that's not you. We know you're busy watching over us and making sure everyone is OK. We love and miss you. Please keep the door open for us, we'll be there to see you.
