Roy Gene White, 76, of Milburn, Ok, and Bakersfield, Ca passed away on August 28, 2020, in Bakersfield, California.
Roy was born in Paris, Arkansas to Joseph S and Ida (Robinson) White on March 24, 1944. He graduated from South High School, Bakersfield, Ca in 1961. On December 20, 1975, Roy married Debbie Clark-White in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served six years in the National Guard. He worked as a butcher in Lamont and Bakersfield for 30 years. Roy lived 48 years in Bakersfield, moving to Milburn, Oklahoma the last 28 years, returning to Bakersfield, the last two months of his life to be with his kids and family.
Roy raised Angus cattle, greyhounds, and game chickens in Oklahoma. He enjoyed his horses, going to rodeos and roping calves, raising game chickens, and raising and racing greyhounds. He always had a mischievous grin on his face and loved aggravating someone with a joke or one of his witticisms. He was an excellent cook, a great storyteller, and a wealth of information on a variety of subjects.
Roy is preceded in death by his mother and father Ida & Joe White, his sister Dola McMinn, and his son, Damon Eaton.
Roy is survived by, Debbie White is spouse of nearly 45 years, daughter, Dusti (John) Kapitza, granddaughters Brittnie Kapitza (Cameron Benton), and Kelsie Kapitza (TJ Jackson), great-grandchildren, Cash and Willow Kapitza, Bradley, Brody, and Braylie Benton, sister Darlene Champlain, brother Donald White, Brothers-in-law David (Patty) Clark and Darrel (Jo) Clark, and numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on October 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Cross section. A Celebration of Life for Roy will be held following the services at: 5301 Rockwell Drive, Bakersfield, Ca 93308, all are welcome to attend that knew our Roy and want to help us celebrate his life here on earth.
