Ruben Vasquez

​RUBEN VASQUEZ

May 3, 1951 – August 12, 2021

Our brother Ruben was born to Aquilino San Roman Vasquez (Kilo) and Connie Ybarra Vasquez on May 3, 1951.

Attended Col. Baker School, Lincoln Jr. High and graduated from East Bakersfield High School. He worked hard out in the fields of Kern County in which helped purchased his first car. He married Julie Ortiz and together they had six children: Tracey Vasquez, Ruben Vasquez Jr. (Christina), Ernest Vasquez, Julia Vasquez Flores (Isaac), Carlos Vasquez (Jasmin), and David Vasquez (Cristal). Ruben worked for Santa Fe Railroadfor about 35 years. ​

Ruben is also survived by his siblings: Rosemarie Mata (Manuel), Rachel Esquivel (Zeke), Rudy Vasquez, Ralph Vasquez (Anna), Rick Vasquez, Robert Vasquez (Liz), and Rebecca Espinoza (Ron).
