Ruth Armendariz Mosqueda

June 29, 1925 — September 30, 2017

Ruth "Cuca" Armendariz Mosqueda

Our Mom was born June 29, 1295, in Los Angeles, California. She entered eternal rest on September 30, 2017 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She lived most of her life in Shafter, California, in the Old Minter Field Barracks off of Lerdo Hwy with her husband, "Big John" Armendariz who worked at Ranchers Cotton Oil.

She leaves behind her son, John Jr. Armendariz (and his wife Lomi) of Imperial Beach, Ca, daughter and Care taker, Mary L. Ramirez of Fresno, Ca, daughter Sally A. Gonzalez (and husband Jacinto) of Porterville, Ca, daughter Gloria I. Ybarra (and husband Harry) of Shafter, son David S. Armendariz (and his wife, Becky) of Shafter and daughter Esther K. Armendariz (and her husband Aurelio Chavez) of Shafter. Many nephews and nieces who loved their "Tia Cuca" as well as the Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren that honored her with the name Nana (36 in all).

Mom was preceded in death by husbands John A. Armendariz of 35 years, and Rafael Mosqueda of 30 years, son Bobby Armendariz, Grandson Matthew Gonzalez and Michael Ybarra.

Ruth worked for Jackson and Perkins for 25 years as a Supervisor. She was known as a classy boss, prettied up with scarves, pins, and pink lipstick. Mom enjoyed camping, family get togethers, music and dancing. She could cook everything under the sun and would insist you eat. She also worked as a Dietary Aide at North Labor Camp where she'd sit with the children for lunch at their tiny chairs. She was always very strict teaching all children, family or not, to say please, thank you, you're welcome and she taught to respect our teachers, doctors and law enforcement.

Mom loved the L.A. Dodgers and her "stats" which always surprised people.

A devout Catholic and current parishioner of Saint John's Cathedral in Fresno, Ca. While she was a resident in Shafter, California, she was a parishioner of St. Therese. Her favorite past time was kissing and praying the rosary.
