The Life of Salomon Moreno Martinez My father Salomon was born on the 8th of august 1940, He was born in a small town by the name of Xoconoxtle in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. He was the third of 6 siblings born to Manuel Martinez and Maria de Jesus Moreno De Martinez. He moved to Mexico City for a stint where he worked various jobs to help sustain his family back home. After a time in Mexico City he then opted to move to Baja California, Mexico with his Tia Martha Usebia Martinez, in the late 50s. It was during this time in Baja California that he met the Lord as his Savior in area of Tijuana. In the early 60s he joined the bracero program and was sent to Fort Collins where he worked for a season. After that he returned to his hometown and in 1964 married the love of his life Maria Mercedes Zavala de Martinez. In April of 1965, his firstborn George Zavala Martinez was born to the young couple. In late 1965 he moved to Los Angeles California where family welcomed him to make a better life. In 1967 he was joined by his wife and son. In October 1968 his second child Ruth Zavala Martinez was born. It was during this time span while in Los Angeles that he commenced his ministerial schooling with the Assemblies of God. In February of 1970 his third child arrived, Salomon Martinez Jr. His fourth child Araceli Zavala Martinez came along in December of 1972. In the summer of 1975 dad moved his family to Lamont California looking for a better life. He became a field laborer along with his wife and also at that time the Lord called him to ministry. While working in the agriculture fields he participated in the Farm Laborer movement led by Cesar Chaves. His fifth and final child came along in January of 1979, his son Daniel Esteban Martinez. While living in Lamont he felt the calling to the ministry and proceeded to gain his credentials as an Assembly of God minister. While in the ministry he was instrumental in pasturing 3 churches in the Lamont, Arvin Area. The first church he pastured was also the church he helped establish. Templo Sinai was established in the late 70s and still stands to this date. In the early 80s he suffered and industrial accident which left him unable to continue working in the agriculture fields. He continued pasturing until his retirement in 2006. In 2012 his wife of 48 years went to be with the Lord, after a bout with cancer. In the following years he was diagnosed with ailments that finally lead to his passing on August 16, 2020 at 3:19pm in his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his five children, their spouses, sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In our hearts and minds Always till we meet again. Love You Dad!!!
