Sarah Marcelle Wofford

SARAH M. WOFFORD

October 4, 1937 - November 4, 2019

Sarah M. Wofford was born to Clifton and Anna White in Pennsylvania, where she attended local schools. As an adult, Sarah worked as a nurse, but she decided to go into a different field of employment. She worked as a United States Postal Service employee, where she later retired.

Sarah married in her early years. To this union, 3 children were born, Yvonne, Vicky and Lonnie. After the death of her husband, Sarah later married Robert Webb.

Sarah later moved to California, where she became a member of Emmanuel Temple Church under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Tommie Wofford. While attending Emmanuel Temple Church, Sarah met and married James Wofford on January 15, 2012.

Sarah loved playing the keyboard, composing songs and singing. She became a faithful member of the praise team at Emmanuel Temple Church, where she played keyboard. Sarah loved to share God's Word with others, which she was able to do when she became a Sunday School teacher. She also participated in the evangelism outreach program and spent many hours doing a work for the Lord. Sarah was also a member of the group, First Commandment Gospel Singers.

Sarah was a giving person. She provided rides for those without transportation and she gave keyboard lessons to those with a desire to learn. She also had a special gift for making visitors in their home feel very welcome.

God saw fit to call Sarah home in the early morning hours of November 4, 2019, with her husband James at her side. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, all except one sibling and previous husbands.

She leaves to cherish her memory husband, James; her children, Yvonne, Vicky and Lonnie; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her Emmanuel Temple Church family and friends. Sarah will forever be in our hearts.
