Sergio Contreras Gonzalez

Sergio G Contreras, 57 passed away on May 7th, 2021 at home in Bakersfield, CA. Sergio was born on August 12, 1963 in Los Aldamas Nuevo Leon Mexico to Evangelina Gonzalez. Sergio grew up in Arvin, Ca. Sergio graduated from Arvin High School in 1982. After high school he served in the United States Navy as a Navy Corpsman. When he came home, he continued his medical career as a CNA at San Joaquin Hospital. Sergio then pursued a career in Law Enforcement as a County Officer and Federal Officer for more than 20 years. Sergio married Melanie in August 2011. They were happily married for 9 years. Sergio was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Sergio enjoyed watching football especially Norte Dame and Dallas Cowboys, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. Sergio is survived by his spouse Melanie of Bakersfield, Ca; his daughter Aarica and son-in-law Jose Padilla of Bakersfield, Ca, daughter Claire and son-in-law Abraham of Santa Maria, Ca and daughter Alexis Aguirre Navy Corpsman United States Navy. Grandchildren: Sabrina, Joey, Bianca, Miranda, Robert, Ezekiel, Zackeria, Ava Marie, and Abraham II, and multiple great grandchildren. Uncle Artemio and Teresa Gonzalez of Wasco, CA; cousins: Robert and Lila Gonzalez, Arminda and Raul Garza, Arnold and Maria Gonzalez, Artemio Jr. and Amalia Gonzalez and Oscar and Fatima Leal. As well as many other loved ones. Sergio was proceeded in death by his mother Evangelina Gonzalez, his grandparents Bartolome Gonzalez and Baudilia Garza. Rosary and Memorial services will be held at Basham Funeral Care 3312 Niles Street Bakersfield, Ca. 93306 on Monday May 24th 2021 at 5pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe 4600 East Brundage Lane Bakersfield, Ca at 10am on Tuesday May 25th 2021. Burial will follow the Funeral at Bakersfield National Cemetery. Following the Services, we will gather to Celebrate Sergio's life at 1625 Baker St. at 3 p.m. Condolences may be left on Sergio G.
