Shirley Ann Seidenstricker was born on January 1, 1948, in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Neoma and Walter Norcross. She attended high school at Wisconsin Academy in Columbus, Wisconsin. After high school, she attended Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI where she worked on her pre-nursing coursework. While at Andrews University, she met the love of her life, Keith Seidenstricker. Shirley finished her Registered Nursing credential at Kettering College of Healthcare in Kettering, Ohio in the school's first graduating class on August 31, 1969. Shirley and Keith were married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 28, 1969, and then she quickly moved to Loma Linda, California where Keith was already attending medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in his sophomore year. In Loma Linda, Shirley worked as a nurse in the Loma Linda University Medical Center Emergency Room as the "breadwinner" for her new family of just two. There at the medical center she made lifelong friends such as Connie and Bob Fuller and many others. In 1973, after Keith finished his internship, the two moved to Lakeport, California where they lived for seventeen years. During their time in Lakeport, they completed their family with four children before eventually making the transition to Bakersfield, California in 1989. The relocation was prompted by a desire for closer proximity to higher educational opportunities for the entire family. In Bakersfield, after raising the children thru their dependent years, Shirley attended University of Phoenix and completed her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with an additional certification in Public Health Nursing. After graduation, she worked in numerous nursing capacities, mainly in the outpatient surgery healthcare setting in Bakersfield. During her career, Shirley demonstrated an enthusiasm for learning, a passion for teamwork, and a life long compassion for service. Shirley fell asleep in Jesus on March 31, 2017 in Maui, Hawaii. Survivors include: her husband Keith Seidenstricker, her three surviving and one deceased children, Darin (Kristen) Seidenstricker of Bakersfield, CA, Adam Seidenstricker of Loma Linda, CA, Leslie Seidenstricker of Bakersfield, CA, and Timothy Seidenstricker (who preceded her in death), six brothers and sisters, Karen Lueck-Witzel of Hawkins, WI, Wallace Norcross of Stanton, MI, Damaris (Larry) Johnson and Maribeth Norcross, both of West Salem, WI, Carmella Valenti of Kenosha, WI, and Steven (Jan) Valenti of Highland, CA; eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Her legacy will remain her love for others nurturing each and every one family, friends, co-workers, church family, ladies group, and all with whom she was acquainted. Her love for her Savior, Jesus, was revealed each of the countless times she placed others needs above her own.
