Sonia Ornelas

Sonia Ornelas was born Sonia Maria Diaz on December 23, 1970 in Bakersfield, Ca. The oldest of four and the only daughter born to Joe Desilagua Diaz and Mary Helen Simental.

Sonia did attend her primary grades although she never finished high school, but she always worked. She became a CNA by trade, she was a naturel caregiver by heart. Sonia married the love of her life, Manuel Ornelas on December23, 1993. Their marriage was short-lived when Manuel died in a car accident February 10, 1995. Sonia and Manuel never had children of their own and Sonia never remarried, but she was blessed with her two children, Ariana Williams and Isaiah Hernandez. These two became her great joy and her heart's treasure. Sonia was also able to meet and enjoy her first grandson, Giannis, who she loved dearly. Sonia was loved by many; cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She will and is greatly missed.

Sonia is survived by her children; Ariana and Isaiah, her grandson Giannis, her mother Mary, her brothers; Pablo, Polito and John, and countless others that loved her. Sonia is preceded in death by her grandparents; Ricardo and Guadalupe Diaz, her father Joe Diaz, her husband Manuel Ornelas, and her furbaby Noki Diaz.
